Ipukarea – Celebrate, Sustain, Transform is the theme of the 2012 LIANZA conference. Ipukarea refers to the ancestral homeland, a significant land or water feature which relates to identity and source of livelihood. It is a place that represents our history, a place to which we have an emotional attachment, and a place where we go to be rejuvenated.
LIANZA conference provides a place, space and time for celebration, but it is also a welcome opportunity to gain professional and personal sustenance through meeting others, talking, listening and learning – a place for rejuvenation. It is a place to be challenged and to consider opportunities for change and transformation.
The 2012 conference is proudly hosted in the Manawatū for the first time in many years. The Conference Committee will help you to celebrate our ‘heartland’ location, to focus on the stories and successes of New Zealand Aotearoa, and will ensure you leave conference refreshed and ready for future challenges in our profession. We know you will enjoy our focus on ‘Kiwi-made’, with very welcome international speakers as an integral part of our programme.
