Ms. Caroline Pang

University Librarian

Caroline Pang is the University Librarian at Nanyang Technological University. She has over 25 years of experience in the library field. She has had the opportunities to set-up new libraries including the Tanoto Library, INSEAD, Asia Campus and the Medical Library, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Caroline was awarded the Professional Service Award (2017) from Library Association of Singapore and the Nanyang Awards (Teamwork) from NTU in 2016. Recently, she led her teams to win 3 awards at the Administration Excellence Awards 2023 from NTU. She was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Silver) National Day Award in 2023. Caroline is also on the Board of Directors, International Association of University Libraries, representing the Asia Pacific region and several advisory boards including EBSCO and Wiley.

Mandy Sum is a graduate of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry in 1996 and her MBA from Charles Sturt University in 1999. She has over 28 years of working experiences in the publishing industry. She joins ACS Publications in 2018 as Market & Business Development Manager for ASEAN & Oceania. Her roles are to initiate and support business development initiatives, sales & marketing activities for academic, government & corporate market.

Dr. Mohd Faizal Hamzah

Head of Education Library

He is also a part-time lecturer at the same University. His education begins in 2006 when he completed his Diploma in Information Management at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). He later pursued his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the same university in the year 2008 and 2011, respectively. In 2019, he managed to graduate on time with his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) which he specialized in Information Management (work design and work performance). Having more than 12 years of experience with more than 40 article publications in the field of Library Science and information management, Dr. Faizal has been conferred numerous awards.

One of the most prestigious awards that he has received is the Malaysia Aspiring Librarian Award in 2015 and the most recent one Masti Gemilang Administrator Award (Social Writing) 2022 and Masti Gemilang Administrator Award (Research) Other Schemes 2022. Due to his excellent achievements, he has been appointed as the Vice President II for Malaysian Librarian Association (2019- 2022), the Chairman for Special Disabled Users in Library (2016- present), and Malaysia Representative to Southeast Asian Librarians Leadership Convergence (2021- present).

Paul Canning

Director International Sales

Paul Canning has held key roles in editorial, marketing, product development and sales in professional and scholarly publishing businesses for more than twenty-five years. He has worked for both commercial and not-for-profit organizations.

As the IEEE Director International Sales, he manages IEEE sales activities for the IEEE Xplore Digital Library in APAC, EMEA, Latin America and Oceania. He has been a part of the IEEE international sales team since 2006 in the roles of international area manager, regional sales manager, and since 2022, director international sales.

Paul joined the IEEE in 1998 as the director of publication and information marketing. He was a member of the team developing, launching, and marketing the flagship product, the IEEE Electronic Library (IEL).
Prior to IEEE, Paul was the senior managing director of two Reed-Elsevier information businesses: Marquis Who’s Who and National Register Publishing. He held both editorial and product management positions.

He received an MBA from the University of Chicago and earned a BA from Columbia University in the City of New York where he studied French literature. Paul currently travels extensively for IEEE and enjoys living on the North Side of Chicago with his wife Marilyn.

Woei Fuh Wong

Woei Fuh Wong has a diverse experience extends over three decades from a researcher to an engineer and later, an information specialist. During his 10 years with Web of Science since 2004, he actively engaged with researchers and academics in Asia Pacific resolving their challenges of bibliometric insights and research assessment. In 2015, Woei Fuh started a consulting firm in Singapore and he founded a research program, Research 123, preparing young researchers with future research skills. His consultancy work focuses on three areas: Research Visibility; Research Impact based on UN SDG (United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals); and Research Commercialization. He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science & Technology from the University of Manchester, UK, and a MBA from Louisville University, USA.

Iris Hsu

Iris Hsu has 18 years of experience in scholarly communication for academia particularly in the areas of e-resources management and digital implementation for libraries. Through her partnership with prestigious publishers like Nature and ACM, she acquired in-depth experience about researchers’ behaviors and research skill sets. Recently she was involved in the knowledge transfer of research assessment framework from the UK to Hong Kong, giving support on research visibility and impact. Her consultancy work includes: improving the usage of e-resources and designing end-to-end research workflow that captures impact evidences.

Han-wen Chang

Han-wen Chang has over 7 years of experience in academia data analytic. In Thomson Reuters between 2011 and 2015, Han-wen helped to provide holistic view of research analytic mashing up proprietary citation index data (Web of Science) and customers’ information for evidence-based decision making. She holds a Ph.D. of Library & Information Science from National Taiwan University, and her academic research focused on bibliometric analysis in scholarly communication. As an independent analyst, she has delivered analytical reports for government agencies and universities for research policy and assessment. Her consultancy work includes: quantifying research outreach-visibility-impact, and their measurements.

KC Tang

KC Tang has over 11 years of experience in the publishing industry with hands-on of digital implementation and content marketing. He has led several online marketing programs in Web Design, Social Media Marketing Strategy, Content Curation and Scientific Video Creation for regional academic institutions in Asia. His regional clienteles are primarily universities, research institutions and technology companies, that commonly attempted to align their services to social impact. As regular research outreach Trainer, KC developed and delivered workshops for university researchers and innovators to improve their research visibility and impact. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Certified “Train-the-trainer” by Human Resources Development Corporation (HRDC) Malaysia, and Certified Digital Marketing Specialist by iTrain Malaysia.
